Course Description

This course presents the tools and techniques used to interpret publicly available accounting reports to evaluate the health and potential of organizations. Students will learn how to measure and analyze a firms current profitability and financial stability and how to forecast the firms future performance. They will learn how to benchmark a firm against its own past performance, competitor performance and industry performance, and how to apply financial statement analysis to financial statements of government and non-profit organizations. Upon completion of the course, each student will have the ability to generate logically consistent and defensible forecasts of a firms future financial performance.
