Course Description

Algorithms, and the measure of their efficiency using complexity theory, elevate computational technologies from undirected arithmetic to thinking machines. In this course students will explore a specific instance in which a precise understanding of algorithms, from styles of thinking to breakthroughs in information management, have revolutionized the field of technology. Students will use the shared language of programming to push computers to the limits of performance and capability and gain greater understanding of what is possible through the power of computing - and why. Topics could include advanced algorithms, advanced machine learning.
