Course Description
This course is an introduction to leadership theory and development. Informed by Social Change Model for Leadership Development, the Relational Leadership Model, and the Strengths-Based Model, this course examines historical perspectives in leadership, various perspectives and ethics of leadership, as well as impacts on groups and communities. Students will develop their own authentic leadership identity through reflecting and applying readings, class discussions, debates, presentations, and guest speakers. Class culminates in a large group project where students engage local agencies to produce an leadership product that fits a community need.
