Course Description
This course is an investigation into the format and creation of picture books from the perspective of illustrators. Picture books are a unique medium that appeal to audiences of all ages, and we will be discussing and creating work not only for children but also for teens and adults. Particular attention will be paid to the unique relationship between words and images in picture books. The culmination of the term will be focused on students creating a mini-book. Students will choose a short text and reinterpret it in a uniquely personal way.
