Philosophy and Religion
Course Description
Introduction to philosophy with special attention to religion. Content may vary with semester but will touch on diverse religious traditions and include such topics astherelations between religion and philosophy, religion and morality, and faith and reason; the existence of God; the problem of evil; the meaningfulness of religious discourse; and the implications of various religious commitments for our understanding of the self. Note: This course differs from PHIL 112 in being writing-centered. No student who has taken PHIL 112 can also receive credit for PHIL 113w.
