This course examines the wearing of clothes throughout history, the customs around wearing clothes, and the ways that fashion change has been impacted by a myriad of influences. By focusing on the specifics of fashion change over time we will uncover not only the obvious sartorial influences on our current lives, but also the lingering effects of what has come before including social and political ramifications, gender and economics, and issues of psychology, sexuality, and race.
