Atkinson InstructionalAtkinson Graduate School of Management

Course Description

This course introduces data analysis, statistical inference, and modeling in the context of business and management. Statistical topics include data summarization and visualization, foundational probability distributions, sampling distributions, elementary statistical inference (interval estimation and hypothesis testing,) and statistical modeling (simple and multiple linear regression.) Applications are selected broadly from across the disciplines of management, featuring many real-life examples from public, private, and not-for-profit organizations. Working with an ensemble of powerful analytical tools - Excel, Tableau, and R - the course is built around modern data-scientific workflows as the means for framing statistical questions, structuring analysis, communicating results, and creating value.
