Social Science Seminar
Course Description
The Social Sciences encompass anthropology, geography, history, religion, politics, economics, psychology and sociology. In this upper-division seminar, a selection of topics are offered each semester and studied in a way that offer students the opportunity to study a particular historical period or problem or a specific issue within the social sciences. Students investigate and apply the principles and methods of inquiry and critique, reading a variety of scholarly articles and monographs and completing at least one research project. The course also addresses the relationship of social science to other disciplines and to the arts. Recent offerings include: A History of Expositions, Race in America, and Reconsidering the Good War.
